  • Mission Statement

DeWitt Bank & Trust Company will serve our trade area through leadership as a community bank while providing convenient, comprehensive, and integrated financial services.

  • President's Message

One of the rewarding aspects of being a community banker is the desire and ability to give something back to the community, organizations, and people that support our business. We do this every day at DeWitt Bank & Trust Co. through monetary donations, volunteer service by our employees and community leadership.

  • History

DeWitt Bank & Trust Co. was chartered by the State of Iowa to conduct banking activities in 1934. The bank was the successor to Farmers and Citizens Savings Bank, which was closed during the Great Depression. DeWitt Bank & Trust Co. commenced operations in the same building that housed Farmers and Citizens Savings Bank with 6 employees. In 1967 we entered the computer age by purchasing computer services from Davenport Bank & Trust Co. Prior to that time, all transactions were posted to the books by hand. In the fall of 2000 we purchased the DeWitt office of Gary Foster to offer a full service staff of accounting professionals. Now 70 years after we first opened our doors, we employ close to 40 people eager to serve the needs of our customers.

DeWitt Bank & Trust Co. is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.
